EVA MONTANARI
Eva Montanari was born in Rimini, Italy, in 1977.
Graduating from the State Institute of Art and the European Institute of Design in Milan, she started as a children's books author- illustrator while still a student.
From that time, she wrote and illustrated children's books in Italy, France, United States, Japan, Taiwan, and the UK which have been translated also in Germany, Spain, Portugal, Korea, Croatia, Finland, Poland, Argentina.
She also illustrates calendars, book covers, posters and contributions for magazines and agencies.
Her paintings have been shown in many exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
She won several illustration awards like "Cento Illustration Prize" and the "Luandama Fast Prize." With her book "Chissā Com'č il Coccodrillo" (ed. Arka), she won the "Alpi Apuane" award for Best Picture Book .
In 2004, 2005 and 2006 her work was selected for the Original Art Show of the Society of Illustrators in New York.
In 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 she was selected for the international exhibition of the Bologna Children's Book Fair.
She has started holding illustration workshops in Italy and around the world.
Eva particularly loves to illustrate her own stories.
Only in this way can she create a world that didn't exist before, but just lived in her mind, and see it materialize on the page in words, shapes and colors.
With her books, Eva makes visible the impalpable ideas in her mind, and shares them with her young readers.
